Document #2

Chambers 33, Anglased Street

Dublin 21 day of July 1876

Dear Sir,

I have your favor of the 3rd inst. And in reply by to say _____ and my partners must be paid to transact any business first to us or any reasonable terms between us and you.  But I could not give any definite reply to your proposal without knowing something of the case.  If you send me as true a statement of the claim as you can make out, I will consider the case and give you a definite reply.  Give us, if you can, the names of the lands and say to what you allude by “the records”.  “1810” is a long time ago, but it so happens I have my own means of prosecuting inquiries in the Count y Armagh.  Say in what part of the county Harry Marshall resided at or near what town.

I am truly yours,

James __________
